Most Loved Programming Languages
Vs The Most Utilized

The most utilized programming languages are not always the most popular.

Programmers are a passionate lot. Ask them which is the best programming language, and you could easily start a flame war, akin to bringing up the topic of politics or religion at a dinner party. To avoid an all-out war, so you don't have to ask, presented here is the chart comparing the most loved vs the most utilized programming languages in the world.

Taken from StackOverflow's survey, Rust, a C++ like language, surpisingly takes first place in most loved category, despite the fact that it's acutal use makes it one of the rarest languages out there. In the same vein, Kotlin is the the newer "improved" version of Java, and has very quickly become one of the most beloved languages in the programming world.

The most popularly utilized langage is Javascript, not surprising since to build any web application there isn't much other choice. All browsers only understand one language - Javascript. Whereas for coding on the backend any number of languages can be chosen. Javascript along with Python and Java are all both loved and widely utilized.

Objective-C surprisingly is not that loved even though it has been the main language that powers iPhones. Swift, on the other hand, is the new language for iPhone programming and is surpassing the old Objective-C in terms of use and far exceeeds it in love.
